Albenia Furminger was born 27th February 1846 in Brede, East Sussex.
Albenia seems to be a relatively uncommon name and combinded with her East Sussex accent, the misspelling of her name on every record is totally understandable.
The 1861 Census shows Albenia aged 14 at home with her parents and an occupation of Servant, it seems likely that she was working locally which allowed her to be at home.
Six years later she married George BREWER in Folkestone. He was born about 1845 in Folkestone. (I do not as yet have the marriage certificate so the location and other details are unknown)
Albenia and George had 8 children born between 1869 and 1888, these were:
George Lewis b.1869, Alfred b.1871, Eliza b.1875, Charlotte Ann b.1876, Harry b.1878, Albert b.1881, Benjamin b.1885 and
Edith b.1888
1871 Census.......................
On the 1881 Census Albenia and family are resident at 13 Bridge Street, Folkestone with all 6 children born upto 1881. Her husband George is shown as a Bricklayer.
